Harvard University

Bright Hockey Center
Cambridge, MA

Tickets

  • Tickets cost $20 ($10 for students and children) and are available online or by phone from the Harvard Athletic Ticket Office (617-496-2211). Although rarely sold out for RPI games, the arena does get fairly full so we advise buying tickets ahead of time.
  • The visitors' sections are 3, 4 and 5 in the diagram.

Directions

  • If using a GPS, enter 65 North Harvard Street, Boston, MA.
  • From Troy: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike east to Exit 18 (Allston/Cambridge). After paying toll, bear left at fork towards Allston. Turn right at second set of lights onto North Harvard Street. Proceed approximately one mile. You will see Harvard Stadium on your left. Bright Hockey Center is located on an internal road behind the stadium. Distance: 180 miles.

Arena

  • Campus map: Bright-Landry Hockey Center is on the Athletics Campus, across the Charles River from most of Harvard's campus. Search for "Bright Hockey Center" on the map..
  • Parking: There is a parking lot for Bright located behind the football stadium. The entrance is at the far end of the stadium; you will see personnel directing traffic. There is a $10 fee to park for hockey games. There is also some very limited on-street parking along North Harvard Street.
  • Seating: Bright Hockey Center seats 3,095. The arena is never full for RPI games, so it is possible to move if you don't like your ticketed seat, although the visitors section will get fairly full. Seats are metal benches with individual curved backs. Standing along the rail is allowed.
  • Food: 2014 renovations to Bright included creating a large new concession area behind sections 14-20. There is a good variety of arena food including hot dogs, french fries and snacks.

Hotels

  • See http://www.cambridgeusa.org/sleep#/ajax/results/hotels/full/search&orderby=title+asc.
  • Most of these hotels are expensive and not a convenient walk to the arena. The Days Inn is a little more reasonable and about a half mile's walk from Bright.
  • INSIDER'S TIP: If you're traveling on to Dartmouth for the next game, consider staying at a hotel outside Boston. The Sonesta Suites in Andover, MA, about 40 minutes from Bright Hockey Center and just minutes off the route to Dartmouth, has roomy suites for considerably less than the prices in Boston.
