Timer counting down until next game

Yale University

Ingalls Rink
New Haven, CT

Tickets

  • Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online at http://www.yalebulldogs.com/information/tickets/hockey or from the Yale Athletics Ticket Office (203-432-1400) if paid for with a credit card. We advise buying tickets ahead of time because Ingalls Rink often sells out, although not usually until game day.
  • Diagram of Ingalls Rink: Visitors' sections are aisles 11, a side section near the end; and 12, which is an end section.

Directions

  • From Troy: Take I-90 East to the New York Thruway-Berkshire Extension (I-90) to the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90). Take the Turnpike East to exit 4, then take I-91 South al the way to New Haven. (Note that this involves passing through Hartford, which can take a lot of time during rush hours). *Leave I-91 at Exit 3, Trumbull Connector exit. Make a right onto Whitney Avenue (the second main intersection), then take a left onto Sachem Street. Ingalls Rink appears on your right at the corner of Prospect and Sachem Streets. Distance: 155 miles
  • From Providence (Brown): Find I-95, which goes right through Providence. Take I-95 South to the intersection with I-91 (Exit 48). Pick up the directions above from *. Distance: 105 miles.

Arena

  • Campus map: Ingalls is the oval a bit NE of center. Click on it for detail.
  • Parking: The only lot at Ingalls is permit parking only, but there is ample street parking around the arena and a couple of small visitors lots within walking distance.
  • Seating: Ingalls Arena seats 3,486. It is usually possible to change seats within the visitors sections, but difficult to move elsewhere. Seats are bench style with backs. Standing on the rail is allowed.
  • Food: Concessions are located at the opposite end of the rink from the entrance. Choices are limited to hot dogs and snack foods. If the first line you encounter is long, pass by and check other lines — because of the layout, many people don't realize there are several lines.

Hotels

  • See http://www.infonewhaven.com/264829.
  • Several hotels, including the Omni and the Courtyard by Marriott, are within walking distance if you're up for a short hike (about 3/4 mile).

Restaurants

  • See http://www.infonewhaven.com/eat.
  • There are many restaurants in New Haven, although we had trouble finding one near the campus that was open early enough to eat before the game.
